2010년 ASLA의 명예로운 멤버십(honorary membership), 메달(the medals), 조경업체상(Landscape Architecture Firm Award), 지역사회봉사상(Community Service Award) 선정을 위한 후보자 추천이 진행되고 있다. 이 영예로운 상은 조경분야에 대한 두드러진 공헌과 일생에 걸친 개인과 단체의 업적을 승인하는 좋은 기회이며 후보자 추천 마감은 2010년 2월 12일 금요일까지다.

"명예로운 미국조경가협회 회원(Honory ASLA)" 명칭은 조경분야에 봉사를 통해 국가적으로, 또는 세계적으로 중요한 영향을 미친 조경가에 주어지게 된다. 최근의 명예 멤버십 수상자는 전 플로리다 주지사이자 상원위원인 밥 그레엄(Bob Graham), 뉴어버니즘센터의 대표이자 전 밀워키 시장이었던 존 노퀴스트(John Norquist), 그리고 위스콘신-매디슨 대학의 명예교수인 아놀드 알라넨(Arnold Alanen) 등이 있다.

그 외의 명예상 부문에는 The ASLA Medal, The ASLA Design Medal, The Community Service Award, The Jot D. Carpenter Teaching Medal, The LaGasse Medals, The Landscape Architecture Firm Award, The Landscape Architecture Medal of Excellence, The Olmsted Medal 등이 있다.

ASLA의 멤버 및 ASLA 지부는 ASLA 명예상 후보를 추천할 수 있으며, 추천절차도 매우 간단하다. 추천된 내용은 실무위원회의 검토를 거쳐, 추천서와 함께 4월에 있을 선정위원회 회의로 전달될 예정이다.

ASLA Opens Nominations for 2010 Honors and Awards
Nominations deadline is Friday, February 12, 2010.

The call for nominations has been issued for ASLA honors for 2010, including honorary membership, the medals, the Landscape Architecture Firm Award, and the Community Service Award. These prestigious awards recognize individuals and organizations for their lifetime achievements and notable contributions to the profession of landscape architecture. The deadline for nominations is Friday, February 12, 2010.

The “Honorary ASLA” designation recognizes persons other than landscape architects whose achievements of national or international significance or influence have provided notable service to the profession of landscape architecture. Recent recipients of honorary membership include former Florida Governor and Senator Bob Graham, Center for the New Urbanism President and former Milwaukee Mayor John Norquist, and Professor Emeritus from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Arnold Alanen.

Any ASLA professional member or ASLA chapter may submit nominations for ASLA honors, and the process is very simple. Nominations will be reviewed by the Executive Committee and forwarded with recommendation to the Board of Trustees for action at their midyear meeting in April.
