3백년 세월이 다듬은, 오카야마 고라쿠엔
강호철 교수의 '세계 도시의 녹색환경과 문화&경관' - 3라펜트l강호철 교수l기사입력2014-04-04
강호철 교수는 최근 일본 3대 정원으로 손꼽히는 가나자와 시의 겐로쿠엔, 오카야마 시의 고라쿠엔, 미토 시의 가이라쿠엔 중 고라쿠엔을 다녀왔다.
면적 6만 8900㎡. 오카야마[岡山]의 고라쿠엔과 구별해서 ‘고이시카와[小石川] 고라쿠엔’이라고도 한다. 1629년 미토 영주[水戶領主] 도쿠가와 요리후사[德川賴房]가 공사에 착수하여 다음 대(代)인 도쿠가와 미쓰쿠니[德川光國] 때 완성하였다.
일본의 명승지를 축소해서 조경하고 그 밖에 중국풍(中國風)의 수법까지 도입한 정원으로 변화있는 전망을 보이고 있으며, 큰 연못을 중심으로 기묘하게 구성되어 있다. 일본 문화재보호법에 의해 특별사적으로 지정되어 있다.
