| º» ¿¬±¸´Â ´ÙÃþ±¸Á¶ÀÇ USGA Áö¹Ý ¹× ´ÜÃþ±¸Á¶ÀÇ ¾à½ÄÁö¹Ý¿¡¼ ³ÁöÇü ¹× ÇÑÁöÇü ÀܵðÀÇ ´ëÃëÃàÀû Â÷À̸¦ Æò°¡ÇϰíÀÚ ½ÃÀ۵Ǿú´Ù. USGA Áö¹ÝÀº Àüü 45cm ±íÀÌ·Î ÀÌ·ç¾îÁø ±¸Á¶·Î ½ÄÀçÃþ 30cm, Áß°£Ãþ 5cm, ¹è¼öÃþ 10cm·Î Á¶¼ºÇÏ¿´°í, ¾à½ÄÁö¹ÝÀº Àüü°¡ 30cm ±íÀÌ·Î ½ÄÀçÃþÀ¸·Î¸¸ Á¶¼ºµÈ Áö¹ÝÀÌ´Ù. °ø½Ã ÃÊÁ¾Àº 9Á¾·ù(³ÁöÇü 3, ÇÑÁöÇü 6)ÀÇ Ã³¸®±¸¸¦ °¢ Áö¹Ý¿¡ »ç¿ëÇÏ¿´À¸¸ç, ½ÃÇ豸 ¹èÄ¡´Â 9Á¾·ùÀÇ Ã³¸®±¸¸¦ ³±«¹ý 3¹Ýº¹À¸·Î ¹èÄ¡ÇÏ¿´´Ù. Åë°èºÐ¼® ½Ã 󸮱¸ Æò±Õ°£ À¯ÀǼº °ËÁ¤Àº DuncanÀÇ ´ÙÁß¹üÀ§°ËÁ¤À¸·Î ½Ç½ÃÇÏ¿´´Ù. ÀܵðÁö¹Ý¿¡ µû¶ó ´ëÃëÃàÀû Á¤µµ´Â ´Þ¶úÀ¸¸ç USGA Áö¹Ý¿¡¼ ´ëÃëÃþÀº ¾à½ÄÁö¹Ý¿¡ ºñÇØ 9% Á¤µµ ³ô¾Ò´Ù. ÃÊÁ¾º° ´ëÃëÃàÀûÀº ´ëüÀûÀ¸·Î ³ÁöÇü µéÀܵ𰡠ÇÑÁöÇü Àܵ𿡠ºñÇØ ³ô¾ÒÁö¸¸, ±× Â÷ÀÌ´Â Áö¹Ý¿¡ µû¶ó ´Ù¼Ò ´Ù¸£°Ô ³ªÅ¸³µ´Ù. ÇÑÁöÇü¿¡ ºñÇØ ³ÁöÇü µéÀܵðÀÇ ´ëÃëÃþÀº USGA Áö¹Ý¿¡¼ 34~87% ±×¸®°í ¾à½ÄÁö¹Ý¿¡¼ 16~75% Á¤µµ ´õ ³ô°Ô ³ªÅ¸³µ´Ù. µéÀܵð ǰÁ¾°£ Â÷ÀÌ´Â USGA Áö¹Ý ¹× ¾à½ÄÁö¹Ý¿¡¼ ¸ðµÎ ÁßÁö ǰÁ¾ÀÌ °¢°¢ 3.58cm ¹× 3.21cm·Î ´ëÃëÃàÀûÀÌ °¡Àå Å©°Ô ³ªÅ¸³µ´Ù. ÇÑÁöÇü Àܵð ÃÊÁ¾ °£ Â÷À̸¦ º¸¸é USGA Áö¹Ý¿¡¼´Â ÄËÅÍŰ ºí·ç±×·¡½º°¡ 2.53cm·Î °¡Àå ³ô¾ÒÀ¸¸ç, Åç ÈѽºÅ¥¿Í ÆÛ·¹´Ï¾ó ¶óÀ̱׷¡½º´Â °¢°¢ 2.05cm ¹× 1.98cm·Î ³ªÅ¸³µ´Ù. ¾à½ÄÁö¹Ý¿¡¼µµ ÇÑÁöÇü ÀܵðÀÇ ´ëÃëÃàÀûÀº USGA Áö¹Ý°ú ºñ½ÁÇÑ °æÇâÀ¸·Î ³ªÅ¸³µ´Ù. | This study was initiated to investigate thatch accumulation in several turfgrasses grown under two soil systems. The 45 centimeter deep USGA system was constructed with rootzone, intermediate and drainage layers. The mono-layer system, however, was made with only a 30cm rootzone layer. Turfgrasses used in the study were comprised of 3 varieties from Korean lawngrass of Warm-Season Grass(WSG) and 3 blends and 3 mixtures from Cool-Season Grass(CSG). A total of 9 turfgrass treatments were replicated three times in RCBD in both systems. Cultural practices for the research plot followed a typical maintenance program for highly managed turf. Treatment differences for thatch accumulation were observed among the turfgrasses in both soil systems. Thatch under the USGA system was 9% greater than under the mono-layer system due to its more favorable conditions for turf growth. Higher thatch depth was found with Korean lawngrass, 34~87% in the USGA system and 16~75% in the mono-layer system when compared with CSG. Among WSG, the Joongji variety was the highest in thatch layer under both the USGA and mono-layer systems. Kentucky bluegrass(KB) was the greatest among CSG, since it is a rhizomatous-type in growth habit, resulting in faster production of organic matter over bunch-type of tall fescue and perennial ryegrass. Proper depth in the thatch layer was known to be beneficial by enhancing the resiliency and wear tolerance of the turf in athletic fields. Thus, KB was considered to be a very excellent turfgrass in terms of turf quality, environmental performance, physical properties and soccer player safety. However, disadvantages such as poor water-holding properties, more inclined to injury from environmental stresses and severe diseases and insect injury were also expected where thatch was excessively accumulated. Therefore, these results demonstrate that more frequent measures for controlling thatch such as vertical mowing, topdressing or coring should be employed for soccer fields with Korean lawngrass and KB over other turfgrasses. |
