| The purpose of this thesis is to suggest objective basic data for the environmental planning and design through the quantitative analysis of the visual quality included in the physical environment of Olympic Express Way. For this, visual volumes of physical elements have been evaluated by using the Mesh analysis, visual preferences have been measured by questionnaires and SBE method, spatial images structure of physical elements have been analyzed by the factor analysis algorithm and visual preference scores of simulation perspectives have been measured by SBE method. Results of these thesis can be summarized as follow. The site No. 11, 20, 21, 17 and 23 obtain the higher rank of visual preference, visual volumes of the bridge, street furniture, high water riverbed and planting area are found to be the main factor determining the visual preference. These variables have been found to express regression relation. Factors covering the spatial image of the street landscape have been found to be the overall evaluation, openness, tidiness and pecurity. By using the control method for the number of factorors, T.V. has been obtained as 53.83%. For all seasons, factors such as the overall evaluation and openness yield high factor scores. Variables determining the degree of visual preference are different according to the differences in the regional spatial image. For the same site, it has been admitted the seasonal variations in variables determining the preference. The sign of the coefficient of the same variable has found to be dependent upon sites. For all experimental sites and seasons, The factors of the overall evaluation, opennes are found to be the main factors determining the visual preference. The overall visual preference and factor scores have been found to express the regression relation. In the result of visual preference analysis used simulation perspectives, slide No.4 of the artificial waterfall and slide No.2 of the street tree obtain the highest rank of visual preference. As the resonalble and visual volume maintain, the degree of visual preference increases relatively. |
