D. magna°¡ ¹ß°ßµÇÁö ¾Ê´Â Àΰø¿¬¸ø¿¡¼­ D. similis°¡ ¿ìÁ¡À» ÇÏ¿©µµ D. magna¿Í °°ÀÌ »ý¹° Á¶ÀýÀÚÀÇ ¿ªÇÒÀ» ÇÒ ¼ö ÀÖ´Â ÀÎÀڷμ­ È®ÀεǾú´Ù.
Biomanipulation tests were conducted at 2 artificial ponds in a golf course. Daphnia magna, which had been introduced in 1996, was not detected till July 1997. Other zooplankton, D. similis from wastewater treatment plant was used as a controller for algal growth. The $chl.-{alpha}$ concentration of non-fish pond was $26.0;mg/m^3$ while that of fish-pond was ca. $58.6;mg/m^3$. These results suggest that D. similis can be a useful controller for algal growth.
