This paper presents a eutrophication model for Hoedong Reservoir, small and man-made reservoir in Pusan, South Korea. The model consists of five state variables, phytoplankton ($chl-{alpha}$), $PO_4-P$, zooplankton, fish, and $PO_4-P$ in the sediment. The model has three state variables associated with phytoplankton: PHYT(dry biomass of phytoplankton), $chl-{alpha}$ ($chlorophyll-{alpha}$ concentration in phytoplankton biomass), and PC (weight of phosphorus in phytoplankton). A sensitivity analysis on submodels was carried out for the prediction of $chl-{alpha}$ and $PO_4-P$ concentrations, by exchanging algal growth descriptions between two-step description and Monod kinetics, The model by two-step description for algal growth proved to be more appropriate model than the one considering Monod kinetics in understanding and predicting the ecosystem function of Hoedong Reservoir.
