올해 ASLA 2007 Professional Awards가 발표되었다. 5백여개가 넘는 출품작 중에서 37개의 작품이 수상의 영예를 안았으며, 이 작품들은 오는 10월에 미국 샌프란시스코에서 열릴 ASLA 연례회의에서 시상될 예정이다. 이번에 발표된 Professional  Awards는 전문가 부문의 상으로서 일반디자인(General Design Category), 주거디자인(Residential Design Category), 분석 및 계획(Analysis and Planning Category), 연구(Research Category), 커뮤니케이션(Communications Category) 부문으로 나뉘어 선정되었다. 일반디자인 부문 최고상인 Award of Excellence에는 ‘M. Victor and Frances Leventritt Garden at The Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University’(Boston, Massachusetts)가 선정되었고, 설계사는 Reed Hilderbrand(Watertown, Massachusetts), 발주자는 Harvard University였다. 이어서 Honor Awards에는 12개 작품이 선정되었으며, Andrea Cochran Landscape Architecture가 설계한 ‘Curran House’(San Francisco, California)과 Turenscape (Beijing Turen Design Institute) and Peking University Graduate School of Landscape Architecture가 설계한 ‘The Red Ribbon - Tanghe River Park’(Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province, China) 외 10개 작품이 선정되었다. 주거디자인 부문에서는 Vladimir Djurovic Landscape Architecture(Broumana, Lebanon)가 설계한 ‘Elie Saab Residence’(Faqra, Lebanon)가 최고상에 선정되었고, Honor Awards에는 10개 작품이 선정되는 영예를 안았다. 분석 및 계획 부문에서는 Hargreaves Associates(San Francisco, California)에서 설계한 ‘Hunters Point Waterfront Park Project’(San Francisco, California)가 최고상에 선정되었고, Honor Awards에는 7개 작품이 선정의 영예를 안았다.
연구 부문에서는 Trinity University Press(San Antonio, Texas)의 ‘Defiant Gardens : Making Gardens in Wartime’(by Kenneth Helphand, FASLA)가 최고상에 선정되었고, 1개의 Honor Awards가 선정되었다. 커뮤니케이션 부문에서는 최고상에 독일에서 발간되는 세계적 잡지인 ‘TOPOS’(The International Review of  Landscape Architecture and  Urban Design)가 선정의 영예를 안았고, 그 외 2개의 Honor Awards가 선정되기도 했다. 2007 ASLA Professional Awards에 대한 자세한 내용은 ASLA 홈페이지 http://asla.org/awards/20-07/07winners/ 에서 확인할 수 있다.
