Munam Ecological Park in Cheongju-si

쓰레기 매립장이 있던 곳이 생태공원으로 변신했다. 청주시는 문암쓰레기매립장을 공원화하기 위해 2004년부터 2006년까지 지반 안정화작업을 실시했으며, 매립가스를 포집해 연소시키고, 골재와 흙을 덮어 공원을 조성할 터를 마련하였다. 이렇게 조성된 청주 문암생태공원은 총 21만여㎡로 충청권에 있는 공원 가운데 가장 큰 규모를 자랑하고 있다.
이 공원은 혐오시설로 인식되어 온 비위생적인 매립장을 환경생태적으로 복원하여 시민들의 여가와 건강을 위한 웰빙환경 및 생태환경공간으로 조성하고(Recycle), 시민 모두에게 활력을 불어넣어 주는 다층적인 이용공간을 조성하며(Activity), 청주시의 균형적인 공원녹지네트워크와 녹지축을 연결하고 북부지역의 거점 생활공간으로 조성(Landmark)하는 것을 목표로 하였다.

Existing Munam landfill has turned into the particular ecological park. It is a largescale park in Chungcheong areas. Recognized as unpleasant and unhygienic landfill has three purposes: recycle, activity and landmark, which is environmentally and ecologically restored to construct wellbeing and natural space for the leisure and health of citizens, is created multi-purpose space being full of vitality for them, and is also built up well-balanced green space network with green axis in which is to be made of the landmark as a living space in the north area. The theme of park is mainly divided into Family park, Well-being park and Eco-park.
