인근 우암산과 선도산의 녹지축을 연계하듯 조성된 용정 한라비발디는 녹지율 50% 이상의 높은 녹음을 내세우며, 1400세대를 위한 주거공간으로 조성되었다. 비발디 포레스트Vivaldi Forest를 컨셉으로 한 조경계획은 친환경 주거단지의 조성을 위한 중요한 요소로 숲Forest이라는 키워드를 통해 생태적인 건강성과 다양성을 추구하였다. 단지 배치계획과 특색있는 입면구조의 건물 외벽은 미국의 세계적 건축회사 데스테파노&파트너스DeStefano&Partner사의 수석디자이너 조셉 곤잘레스Joseph A. Gonzalez와 데이비드 발라스코빅David Valaskovic이 함께 참여했다.

먼저 단지 내로 들어서면 주변을 압도하는 주 출입구는 한라비발디만의 공간감을 갖게 하며, 특히 데스테파노&파트너스사와 공동 설계한 전통 돌담 패턴의 건물 입면 디자인은 눈길을 끈다. 16동의 입면 디자인은 비슷한 듯 하지만 모두 다른 디자인이 적용되어 각 동의 차별성을 가진다.
무엇보다 청주 용정 한라비발디에서 느낄 수 있는 풍부한 녹지 공간은 최대 장점 중 하나로 꼽을 수 있다. 단지 내 50% 이상이 녹지로 조성되어 있으며, 대규모 잔디마당, 생태계류, 셀프가든, 옥상정원 등 다양한 형태의 녹지와 정원공간이 들어서 있다. 이 공간들은 다채로운 숲의 모습뿐만 아니라 하나의 생물서식 공간으로도 기능하면서, 자연 친화적인 주거공간임을 보여준다.
단지별 2㎞의 웰빙 산책로는 단지 외곽과 내부의 녹지공간을 이어주고 있으며, 16개 전동에 조성된 옥상녹화는 녹지축이 보다 입체적으로 형성되게끔 하고 있다. 녹지공간을 따라 조성되는 보행체계는 단절 없이 유기적으로 연결되는 것도 특징이다. 특히, 단지를 가로지르는 왕벚나무 길은 봄을, 단지 외각을 둘러싸고 있는 느티나무 길은 여름을, 단지 중심 곳곳에 조성된 단풍나무 길은 가을을 체감할 수 있으며, 그 외에 대형목 및 특화 식재를 통해 입주민들이 사계절감을 느낄 수 있도록 하였다.
