Chung Pyeong Sa

청평사는 강원도 춘천시 북산면 청평리 674번지 일원에 위치하며, 면적 43,098㎡의 고려시대 사찰로 고려 광종 24년(973) 영현선사에 의해 백암선원으로 창건된 이후 보현원, 문수원으로 불려오다 조선 명종 때 보우선사에 의해 중건 및 정원조영이 이루어졌다. 사찰 일원은 아늑한 분지형을 이룬 입지환경 속에 계곡, 영지(影池), 소(沼), 반석(너럭바위), 기암괴석, 폭포 등이 어우러진 천혜의 산수풍경을 간직하고 있는 명승지로, 경내에는 회전문, 경운루, 대웅전, 극락전 등이 자연과 인공이 화합하는 순응의 미학을 공간적, 지형적으로 연계시키고 있다. 1984년 12월 28일 강원도 기념물 제55호로 지정되었다.

The Chung Pyeong Sa is the Korean traditional Temple in Cheongpyeong-ri, Buksan-myeon, Chuncheon-si, Gangwon-do and it had been built in Gwang-Jong's period(973) in Korea dynasty. The location of the temple has aesthetics of the adaptation as the symmetry of Buddhism, and the harmony of the nature and Human
work. The area of the temple is 43,098㎡ and it is basically made up of Hoejeonmun, Gyeongullu, Daeungjeon, Geungnakjeon. It is connecting with condition of the selecting of the building area by environment and aesthetic.  It appointed as the Gangwon-do monument 55 at 1984.
